Covid-19 Face-to-Face PT Session Conditions

Your health and safety is the priority of Fitness with Geri. From 1st June 2020, we are allowed to offer face-to-face outside personal training to small groups of no more than 5 people, as long as we are following government guidelines and are in line with insurance policy.

Client exempt from face-to-face training

Unfortunately, if you, someone in your household or someone you care for falls into any of the below category I will not be able to offer face-to-face training.

Taken from the NHS website:

  • have had an organ transplant

  • are having chemotherapy or antibody treatment for cancer, including immunotherapy

  • are having an intense course of radiotherapy (radical radiotherapy) for lung cancer

  • are having targeted cancer treatments that can affect the immune system (such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors}

  • have blood or bone marrow cancer (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma)

  • have had a bone marrow or stem cell transplant in the past 6 months, or are still taking immunosuppressant medicine

  • have been told by a doctor they you have a severe lung condition (such as cystic fibrosis, severe asthma or severe COPD)

  • have a condition that means they have a very high risk of getting infections (such as SCID or sickle cell)

  • are taking medicine that makes them much more likely to get infections (such as high doses of steroids or immunosuppressant medicine)

  • have a serious heart condition and are pregnant

Covid-19 Symptoms

If you, anyone in your household or anyone that you have been in contact with over the last 14 days has any of the following symptoms, please do not attend your session for 14 days, even if you have no symptoms. Online sessions will still be offered – unless you are the one displaying symptoms.

  • high temperature - this means you feel hot to the touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

  • new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (If you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste - this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.

Prior to each session, if you have a thermometer at home, please check your temperature. I will text you on the day of your session to ask if you anyone in your house or that you have been in contact with has symptoms. This will minimise using pens and paper to sign to say no symptoms.

If I develop symptoms, your face-to-face session will be changed to a Zoom session, unless I am too ill to deliver a session then you will be offered a complimentary session when I am well.

Social distancing

I will mark your area out a minimum of 2 metres away from myself or anyone else in the group.

PPE and Handsantiser

I will not be wearing a facemask and gloves. It is your own decision whether you want to wear a facemask and gloves. Near to where we will be training, there will be a hand sanitiser to use prior to the session.

Equipment

It has been recommended that we use bodyweight or minimal equipment. If you have your own or borrowed equipment from the studio, you could bring and use that. In group sessions, no equipment is to be shared. Please bring your own mats. If I use any equipment, it will be disinfected prior and post-use with hospital grade disinfectant.

Monitoring the "R"

I will be monitoring the "R" rate and if it becomes close to 1 the sessions will revert back to online only, regardless of directgov. This will be a business decision in the interest of all of our health and safety.
